Welcome to the Cabrillo College Faculty Senate
As the official voice of Cabrillo's faculty in academic and professional matters, the Faculty Senate is committed to equity, student learning and student success. Our goal is to empower faculty to engage in campus dialog and take action for continued improvement of teaching, learning, and faculty participation in campus governance.
Faculty Senate meetings are held on alternating Tuesdays, 3–5 PM. Agendas and past meeting minutes are available on . Everyone is invited to attend.

Per Brown Act rules, Senators are required to attend meetings in person in either room 403 in Aptos or in A380 in Watsonville. In addition, this creates and fosters a strong sense of community and connection. While we are providing a link, the in-person meeting experience will be prioritized and we encourage you to attend at one of our physical locations if possible.

Faculty Senate is committed to the following academic and professional matters:

Title 5 § 53200 (b): Academic Senate means an organization whose primary function is to make recommendations with respect to academic and professional matters. In Sections 53200 (c), "Academic and professional matters" mean the following policy development and implementation matters
Curriculum including establishing prerequisites and placing courses within disciplines
Degree and certificate requirements
Grading policies
Educational program development
Standards or policies regarding student preparation and success
District and college governance structures, as related to faculty roles
Faculty roles and involvement in accreditation processes, including self-study and annual reports
Policies for faculty professional development activities
Processes for program review
Processes for institutional planning and budget development
Other academic and professional matters as are mutually agreed upon between the governing board and the academic senate.
